Who, can wear and when it can be worn?
Irrespective of class or creed, anyone can wear this. You can wear it at any time of the day. But when it is worn after sanctifying it with mantras and water, it is better.
Types of Rudraksha as per their size?
The Rudraksha is classified through its size. The size of gooseberry or amla is considered as the most superior one. The medium one is smaller and the still smaller ones are minute.
What type of Rudraksha is not to be worn?
The Rudraksha that is broken or is flat without it etchings should not be worn. Also, the Rudraksha eaten by worms should be avoided.
Types of Rudraksha as per their etchings?
It is recognized by the number of faces etched on it One faced(Ek Mukhi) Rudraksha is the rarest and considered to be the superior one since it gives very good results to the person wearing it.
The range of Rudraksha is from one faced to Terah faced(13 etchings) Rudraksha. All of them give varying results as per their faces in ascending order. But each Rudraksha has a particular quality attached to it.
How many Rudraksha should be worn?
Some people debate on the number of Rudraksha 1 should wear. As per Shivpuran, the more the number, the better the result. Some ancient Sadhus r covered from head to toe in Rudraksha. But suffice it to say that even a single Rudraksha can change your life.
Story of how a single Rudraksha changed the afterlife of a dead person.
This story is of Raja Devidutt who used to pray under a tree situated next to a well. The tree was inhabited by a baital. Baital or vetal are the messengers and carry on the work of Yamdoots.
The King recognized the Vetal as one of his dead subjects and started conversing with him. Vetal informed him about the impending death of a passerby by a Buffalo. The king witnessed this incident. He also saw that Vetal went forward to pick up the dead man's Atma. But the Shivdoots appeared and took the deadman to Shivlok since he was wearing a single Rudraksha on his head at the time of his death.
Story of reward from a previous life to the present one.
There lived a King named Madrasen whose son Sudharma always wore a Rudraksha and was an ardent #Shivbhakt. Sudharma's friend too followed this path. Once Parashar rishi happened to come to the King's Court.
While discussing other matters, the sage told the story about the previous birth of Sudharma and his friend. In the previous birth one was born as a monkey and the other as a dog. They both lived with a woman of easy virtue who made them wear Rudraksha and dance.
Once the woman's house caught fire. Both the animals were rescued but they left the place and died in the course of time. Due to the goodness of Rudraksha, they were born in the Palace. He also informed the King about their impending death,
but also told the King about the way the Prince could be saved. He told the King to perform a thousand Shatrudri Jaap for the next seven days. The King followed all his instructions and was able to save his son due to the Rudraksha wore in the previous birth.
