Surrender completely to Bhagwan: Story of Gajendra Moksham

Bhagavatam (8th Skanda)signifies this as an important part that whoever chants this is relieved from all difficulties, and gets immortal powers. In a forest on the mount Trikoota, there lived an Elephant king called Gajendra great devotee of Maha Vishnu. One day, Gajendra and his herd go to quench their thirst in a nearby lake. And suddenly, a Makara ( crocodile) living in the lake attacks Gajendra and caught by his leg Gajendra tries hard to free himself from the crocodile’s clutches, but in vain.

All other elephants left him as they felt he cannot be rescued. He trumped in pain and loses all his energy. Gajendra in his previous birth was a king known as Indradyumna (a great Vishnu devotee). Gajendra remembered Maha Vishnu began to pray to him, holding a lotus with his trunk. He didn't think of anything unless of Bhagwan. He was sure that Maha Vishnu will protect him. Hearing Gajendra's prayer, Maha Vishnu rushes from Vaikunta and with his Sudarshan Chakra killed the crocodile and thus rescued the Gajendra and granted Moksha.

Here, Gajendra Signified as the human's Crocodile as the cycle of Papa And Punya Lotus as the Soul and complete surrender to the deva The Only way to get rid of this Cycle of Paap and Punya, is to pray Sri Vishnu with all devotion, as he is the only one who can do so.
