The Story of king Chandrachud in Satyanarayan Katha.

In ancient times a religious and benevolent King ruled Manipur in Kedarkhand. He was an ardent devotee of Bhagwan Narayan. He once lost a war due to the cunning strategy of his enemies. He left alone in the forest after his defeat. After visiting all the holy places he reached Kashipuri. He noticed that everyone in that city was busy performing Satyanarayan Katha. He had heard about the miraculous change in Shatanand's life after reading Satyanarayan Katha.

He also noticed the prosperity of Kashi after the city dwellers had started performing the Satyanarayan puja. He went to Shatanand and told him about his desire to perform this puja. Shatanand explained to him about the rituals involved in this puja. He also asked him to sleep on the ground for seven days after the puja is complete. King Chandrachud performed this puja following the instructions of the Brahmin verbatim. Bhagwan Satyanarayan appeared before him and granted a sword to him.

The King returned to Manipur and collected his army. He defeated and killed the six thousand strong Army with his sword. The King had gained back his kingdom due to the grace of Bhagwan Satyanarayan.
