The Importance of the sixth chapter of Bhagwat Gita. (Ch-6)

On the banks of the Godavari river, there was a city named Prathishthanpur, whose King was Jaanshruti. He was an able and religious ruler who firmly believed in charity and performing Yagya's. The devta's too did not want to leave this city since they were totally satisfied by these Yagya's. Even rainfall occurred on time. There were no untoward activities. The happy and satisfied devta's wanted to bestow him a boon. So they disguised themselves as swans and started flying. The group was flying together, but some swans flew faster and went away further. The group at the back called out to Bhadrashav(the one ahead) and warned them that this path is very difficult to ply since right in front is King's super brilliance(तेज) which is capable of burning us to ashes. The group in front questioned them whether was his brilliance(तेज) more fierce than Muni Raikavya. The King heard this exchange of words.

He summoned his Saarthi and asked him to bring the Muni to him. The Saarthi named Meh went in search of the Muni. First, he searched in Gaya. He did not find him there. Then he traveled to Mathura, the sacred abode of Krishna. But not finding him here too, he left further northwards towards Kashmir. He was amazed by its beauty and the glory of its King Maanikyesh. Nearby was a temple of Maanikyeshwar(Shiva). There he saw the Muni Raakavya sitting on a small cart. Meh asked him as to why was he sitting here when actually he was an ascetic who had renounced everything and was always in a state of Sublime Happiness. The Rishi replied that anyone could serve him as per Sage's mental thinking.

The Saarthi returned and narrated everything to the King. The King set forth immediately and traveled all the way to Kashmir with precious gifts for Muni. After paying his respects to the Sage, the King offered his gifts to the Sage. The angry Sage ordered the King to take away these worldly things. The bewildered King fearing a curse that may come his way, immediately fell on the Muni's feet and questioned him as to how could he attain such Brilliance. The Muni said that this was the power he attained after he read the sixth chapter of Gita. The King then sat and gladly heard the discourse on the 6th Gita chapter.

The King continued reading this chapter even after returning. The devta's to return forgetting their boon. Reading this chapter is important as it makes you feel One with Ishwar and ultimately provides Moksha.
