The importance of the Thirteenth Chapter of Bhagwat Gita. (Ch-13)
On the banks of river Tungabhadra river in the south, there is a town of Hariharpur. There lived a Shrotriya Brahmin named Hari Dikshit, a tapasvi well versed in Vedas. His wife was referred to as Durachara since she always taunted her husband. She did not even cohabit with her husband. She ill-behaved with everyone.
Since she was a loose charactered woman, she had physical relations with men of disrepute. She had selected a secluded spot for these immoral activities. She would find her companion and take him there. Once she did not find anyone to fulfill her sexual appetite. She searched everywhere in vain. Her sex-deprived body became restless. She went around the city and ultimately reached a forest and started crying loudly. A tiger was waiting for his prey nearby. Hearing the cries he came out of hiding and pounced on Durachara. She asked the tiger that why did he want to kill her? The tiger stopped for a few moments and told her the reason as to why he wanted to kill her.
He narrated his story from his previous life. He was a brahmin born in Muniparna city on the banks of the river Malapaha. He was a very greedy person. He performed unnecessary rituals, in other words, he sold religion for his personal gains. He would borrow money never to return. In the course of time, he became old and weak, his life became difficult. Once he went to beg from other Brahmin when a dog bit him. He fainted and ultimately expired. He died and went to hell. He suffered many hells. Ultimately he was born as a tiger. As a tiger now he never attacked Sadhu's, Mahatma, and Sati's. Today he would definitely eat Durachara as she was not a woman of character. He ultimately ate the woman killing her with his nails. Durachara suffered in many hells and ultimately she took birth as a Chandalini.
Again she continued her sinful activities. She lost her eyes and became a leper. Once she got a darshan of Mata Jambhaka Devi. She then met a Brahmin named Vasudev who preached to her the thirteenth chapter of Gita. She got rid of her Chandalini form and became a good woman.
The thirteenth chapter of the Gita says that your sins are carried from one birth to another. Only if you read the thirteenth chapter of Gita you can destroy your sins once for all.
