The story of woodcutters in Satyanarayan Katha.

There lived a group of woodcutters in the town of Kashipuri who would daily go to the deep forest to cut wood and sell them in the town. One day they happened to pass through the house of Vishnudas or Shatanand. They heard the continuous chants of mantras coming from inside. They also noticed the changes in his house. Previously whenever they visited this area they just ignored the small house. They were intrigued by these changes and metamorphosis.

So they directly asked this question Shatanand. Shatanand then narrated to them the incident that changed his life. He also narrated to them how the blessings of Satyanarayan had changed the life of King Chandrachud of Manipur.

The woodcutters were highly impressed and showed a keen desire to perform this puja. They requested Shatanand to tell them the right way to perform this puja. Shatanand advised them that whatever earnings they would earn today should be spent on buying things for the puja. If one can afford it, they can conduct this puja elaborately and lavishly. Otherwise, a panjiri made of Coarse wheat powder with milk and sugar along with flowers, dhoop deep and naivedya was enough. Bhagwan Narayan desired true bhakti from his devotees.

So the woodcutters followed his advice. They could sell more wood and get more profit today. They spent whatever they had earned today to buy puja things. They performed and read the Satyanarayan Katha with full attention. Their life changed for the better from that day.

They now did not sell wood. They lived a comfortable life, stayed in a better place. But they continued the chanting of Katha regularly.
